Batch Scanning Products and Uploading to Clixon

Scanning and uploading to Clixon using the Opticon 2004 batch scanner

Tips about scanning and removing barcodes from the Opticon 2004 batch scanner

  1. Scanning barcodes with the big button or "trigger" will store barcodes on the scanner.
  2. While scanning with the small button or "function" will remove/delete barcodes from the scanner.
  3. When the OPN-2004 has a good scan, it will chime, the LED on the device will flash green, and the laser will turn off.
  4. When the OPN-2004 deletes a barcode, it will give a different chime than above, and it will flash an Orange LED when it has a good scan.
  5. Deleting the same barcode again when there are no more scans of it present will cause the OPN-2004 to chime for about a second. The LED will also flash red.

Step 1:

Importing scanner data into the barcode_output.txt file via the OPN Companion Application

  1. First you will plug in the Opticon 2004 scanner to your PC or Mac with the USB Cable.
  2. Then you will open the OPN Companion Application.
  3. Now, assuming the Status light is Green, click the blue Get barcodes button to download the barcodes that you just scanned.
  4. You will see your scanned results appear in the Barcode Data section.
    1. Double-check that they saved to your barcode_output.txt file before proceeding.
