Motorola CS3000 series - Batch Scanner Information & Setup Guide

Setup for Motorola CS3000 / CS3070 Batch Scanner

Clixon only supports the Motorola CS3000 Batch Scanner series of scanners.
Print page 3-4 through 3-7 (Pages 54-57 on print preview), from the Product Reference Guide.  These pages include the ResetReset Factory Defaults, Set Date & Time and Clear Data Barcodes.
You 'Must' disconnect the scanner from your computer and scan the Clear Data Barcode after Every Upload.
*If you do not Clear the scanner after Uploading you will end up importing products previously Uploaded, again!

Please refer to the Product Reference Guide for all setup & troubleshooting information.

Locating the BARCODES or BARCODES.TXT File

The first time you connect your CS3000 Batch Scanner to your computer using a USB cable......
  • A driver should automatically be installed on your computer.
  • It should indicate to you where the Batch Scanner Files are located.
  • If not, they are usually set up in a new Drive, for example 'E, F or D Drive' in your Computers Control Panel.
Once you locate the appropriate Drive:
  1. Look for a File titled: Scanned Barcodes
  2. Open this file and you should see what you are really looking for, a TXT file titled either 'BARCODES' or 'BARCODES.TXT'
  3. This is the file you need to Upload, it contains all of scanned products you need to import into Clixon.
  4. You can move the .TXT file, if you choose, to a different place like your Desktop or Documents folder.

After you Upload the Batch Scan or BARCODES file to Clixon the first time:
  • It should Map the file to Clixon, so that the next time you choose to upload it will direct you right to the BARCODES field on your computer.
  • Every time you plug in your Batch Scanner via a USB cable, the Data will be Uploaded to this location.
  • The .TXT file should look something like this:

Notice the Information the file contains:
  • Date
  • Time
  • Quantity
  • Item ID (This is a unique 'Clixon ItemID' assigned to each Item).

Troubleshooting - CS3000 Batch Scanner

If your scanner is not responding, i.e. not beeping, beeping is different than normal, or if the light is constantly 'Green':
  • Try Scanning the Rest Factory Defaults barcode - Page 54 or 126 in the Product Reference Guide
  • Or, pop off the cover (possibly silver in color) on the 'back end' of the scanner, and you will see a Reset Button, press this button.
    • Page 17 shows an image with the Identification labels for each part of the Scanner, including the Reset Button.
If neither of these two options work you will need to contact the company where you purchased the Scanner.

Clixon - Product Barcodes

The Clixon product Barcode is the Product ID for the product in our database.
  • The Product ID is a unique number assigned to each Item by Clixon when an Item is Created.
    • This Product ID can be found on the Products Transactions page.
  • The Label you Print off will have the following:
    • The Barcode (Item ID).
    • Manufacturer SKU or (Mfr. SKU).
    • Name of product, unless you have entered an Alias, then that is what we show on the printed label.
