Creating a New Product

Creating a New Product in Clixon is easy but does require a good deal of detail if you want it to be done properly.  Inputting as much information from the proper Category and Sub Category to the Manufacturer and Mfr. SKU, to the product Image Address not only improves your ability to use the product but it also allows you to fully utilize all of the features and reports Clixon offers.
Clixon always offers to import or create products for all of our clients, we simply need the Vendor name and the list of Product SKU's and the Price you pay for each.  We will help you add 1 or 2 products or 100's.  Most Vendors will send you a 12 month Purchase History in Excel if you ask, or you can send us a list or scanned Invoices if necessary (this will take longer for us to process).

Creating a New Product

From the Corporate or My Catalog pages:
  1. Look for and click the blue   + Create New   button on the far right side of the page.
  2. From the Create New page:
    1. Choose the Vendor who sells the product from the drop down menu.
    2. Enter the Vendor SKU (Item #)
    3. If no Products show in the Box that appears below the Vendor and Vendor SKU fields.....
    4. Then scroll down and click the Create New button at the bottom of the page.
You may see product 'Results' in the Box that appears if the products are a close match or if it did already exist and you just missed it when searching from the Catalog page, or if the product exists but had been set to the status Inactive.  Simply click on the product to go to that product Profile...as long as you have permission to 'Edit Products'.  If it is Inactive you can update the Status if you have Permission to do so.  Depending on your User Permissions you may need to contact your Manager if you need to Edit this product or have it re-Activated.
  1. If you clicked the   Create New   button you will be directed to the Create a New Product page where the Vendor and Vendor SKU fields will be populated.
    1. Next, enter the following Required information:
      1. Product Name or description
      2. Container Price
      3. Category
    2. It is wise to also populate these following fields if at all possible:
      1. Sub Category
      2. Manufacturer
      3. Mfr. SKU
      4. Image Address (right click on an image from the Vendor website and choose 'Copy Image Address')
      5. Package Qty
Most of the information you need, from the Product Name (description) to the Manufacturer and Image Address, can be found on the Vendor website.  Enter all of the information you can, as this will benefit you in the long run.  Remember, Clixon is always happy to assist in this process.
  1. If your office utilizes our Inventory / Supply Management features:
    1. Remember to scroll down the page and input things like:
      1. Allocations: Ledger, Cost Center, Budget, Issue Dept., or Reporting Group
        1. These can be pre-populated if you utilize Category Defaults, when you selected a Category.
      2. Locations
      3. ReOrder Options
      4. Tracking Options
Once you have entered all of the product information and have completed the product setup:
  1. Click the Save button to create the product and you will be directed back to the Catalog page.
  2. Or click the Save & New button to create the product and you will be directed back to the Create Product page where you can begin creating your next product.
